Born and raised in Kurunegala, Sri Lanka, Tilantha Hansanath has always been a person of creativity and innovation. He completed his education at Udabadalawa Central College before embarking on his journey in the realm of graphic design and web development in 2012. However, it wasn't until 2020 that he found his true calling in the form of Lion FM, an online radio station that is reshaping the traditional radio landscape in Sri Lanka.
Lion FM is no ordinary radio station. It distinguishes itself by offering a diverse range of programs and championing music that shatters the mold of what is typically heard on the airwaves. Tilantha's vision was clear: he aimed to provide listeners with something fresh and exhilarating, and it's clear that his vision is paying off. Lion FM has struck a chord with audiences who crave a break from the monotony of traditional radio.
In a recent interview, Tilantha was asked about his plans for the future of Lion FM. He shared his aspirations to continue giving back to the community and aiding people through the radio station, all while providing a platform for his dedicated team of 25 employees to nurture and enhance their skills. Despite the hurdles he encountered when launching Lion FM, including financial obstacles and the quest for the right talent, Tilantha remained unwavering in his commitment to his dream, surmounting every challenge that came his way.
Tilantha passionately remarked, "If you want to do something, don't keep saying that you can't do it; do it anyway, no matter what the obstacles are; we can succeed in the end. I started this work, and it wasn't easy. There were many obstacles, but no matter what the obstacles were, I didn't stop and continued until this work was successful."
